CHARLOTTE — California-based Republic Metropolitan has filed documents with the city of Charlotte and Mecklenburg County for a mixed-use project it is planning on the site of NoDa’s Johnston YMCA.
Republic Metropolitan went under contract in May to purchase the 5.78-acre property at 3025 N. Davidson St. from the YMCA of Greater Charlotte. Republic Metropolitan is in the due-diligence phase and plans to close on the acquisition of the property in early 2024, Heather Briganti, YMCA vice president of communications and PR, told Charlotte Business Journal.
The San Francisco-based company filed a sketch review plan with the city on Aug. 1. The filing shows that Republic Metropolitan is planning a mix of uses on the property, including 455 apartments, shops and green space. Charlotte-based LandDesign is doing master-planning for the site, according to the filings.
