Troopers in Anson County investigate fatal hit-and-run crash

ANSON COUNTY, N.C. — Troopers in Anson County are investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash.

They said the victim, Marcus McIver, was walking in the middle of Cason Oldfield Road late Saturday.

Troopers think the driver who allegedly hit him stopped, backed up, then drove away.

Troopers found several pieces of an SUV they think is an early 2000 model Jeep Cherokee.

There have been no witnesses, and the investigation is ongoing.
