CHARLOTTE, N.C. — As the first phase of Lincoln Harris’ mixed-use development in uptown continues construction, it appears the Charlotte developer is gearing up for its next building on the high-profile site.
Filings submitted late last week to the city of Charlotte’s development services indicate Lincoln Harris is seeking to build another office building at 650 S. Tryon St., part of the 10-acre, two-block site it acquired in partnership with Goldman Sachs for $37.5 million a couple of years ago.
Information filed with the project says Lincoln Harris intends to build 388,835 square feet of office space and 22,763 square feet of retail for this building, which would be the second after the 33-story, 850,000-square-foot building under construction today that’s expected to deliver in early 2019. No details about building height or number of floors were included in the application.
The description for the project says the scope of work includes “demolition of drainage, landscape and hardscape” and that “stormwater, water, sanitary sewer systems, and landscaping selections in the provided planting beds and planting areas are also included.”
