CHARLOTTE — Another store in Charlotte’s Northlake Mall is closing, adding to the list of retail shops that have shuttered in the wake of recent shootings.
The Buckle posted a sign saying this Sunday will be its final day open in the Northlake Mall. The sign says to visit nearby locations in Concord Mills and Carolina Place Mall.
Earlier this month, the Apple Store in Northlake Mall abruptly announced it was closing. That announcement came after three shootings in the span of 75 days.

In the wake of those shootings, Northlake Mall said that new safety measures would be put in place, but exact details of those safety measures weren’t given. Northlake said the mall is finalizing rollout plans that will start soon.
In 2021, Northlake Mall lost one of its flagship stores when Dick’s Sporting Goods closed, along with several other tenants.
