CHARLOTTE, N.C. — For 90 years, people have converged in north Charlotte for pork and politics at the annual Mallard Creek Barbecue.
The event started at 10 a.m. and will run until organizers run out of food.
The BBQ serves as a fundraiser for Mallard Creek Presbyterian Church to help support local and international missions.
Organizers began preparing more than 13,000 pounds of pork last week in anticipation of up to 20,000 people.
