Dozens of cats, dogs taken from Mint Hill home in alleged neglect case

MINT HILL, N.C. — A search warrant was served on a home in Mint Hill in in relation to a potential animal cruelty and neglect case, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Animal Care and Control.

Mint Hill police and Animal Control were called Tuesday morning to a home on the 6500 block of Lebanon Road near Margaret Wallace Road.

Animal Control said it was given information that there were unsanitary conditions and neglect at the home.

Eyewitness News reporter Glenn Count went to the scene and said 24 cats, seven dogs and one rabbit were taken from the home. He also saw Animal Control officers putting on breathing equipment before entering the home.

Animal Control said part of Lebanon Road would be shut down for a couple of hours during the investigation.

The circumstances surrounding the investigation have not been released yet.
