HARRISBURG, N.C. — Two people were killed after an Amtrak train carrying 45 passengers collided with a vehicle on the tracks along Saddle Creek Court in Harrisburg Monday afternoon, officials said.
The train was on its way to Raleigh when the collision happened.
Passengers on the train were not injured. The two killed were inside the vehicle that was struck, officials said.
Harrisburg Fire Department crews also had to work to control a gas leak from an overturned vehicle down the tracks.

The road was closed during the investigation but has since reopened.
No names have been released and police have not released any other details surrounding the incident.
