CHARLOTTE — If you hate sitting in the dreaded middle seat on a plane, American Airlines is now offering a solution.
The new app feature allows AAdvantage members to select seat preferences after they complete a booking. Solo travelers who have to pick a middle seat while booking can now opt to be moved to an aisle or window seat if one opens up.
The airline says it won’t cost passengers extra.
The seat monitoring feature is available up to 24 hours before departure.
United Airlines unveiled a similar perk in 2024.
