CHARLOTTE, N.C. — While the COVID-19 pandemic continues to put a drag on travel demand, American Airlines Group Inc. is betting the beaches of Mexico will hold some allure this winter. The airline, which has its second-largest hub at Charlotte Douglas International Airport, has added multiple flights to the country from U.S. cities.

That includes a seasonal flight to Puerto Vallarta from CLT, a spokeswoman for American Airlines confirmed in an email to CBJ.
In addition, the airline is adding seasonal service from CLT to Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and Appleton, Wisconsin.
