CHARLOTTE — Amélie’s French Bakery & Cafe has perfected its artisan bread and is targeting wholesale distribution opportunities.

The popular bakery has set up shop in a 7,000-square-foot space at 1511 Central Ave. — formerly home to Nova’s Bakery. It sent out its first bread orders this month, with plans to expand its client list to additional hospitality, retail and hotel brands, says Frank Reed, co-owner and CEO.
Amelie’s plans to roll out the new bread offerings at its own bakeries by the end of the year.
“It’s a natural extension of our current model, which is hand-made, high-quality baked goods made by real people,” Reed says.
