ROANOKE COUNTY, Va — An Amber Alert has been canceled after three missing Virginia children were found safe Wednesday afternoon in South Carolina.
The alert was issued for 6-year-olds Cameron and Emma Allison and 21-month-old Colin Allison after police said they were kidnapped by their parents Tuesday afternoon in Roanoke County, Virginia.
Police said the children were found safe in a car with their mother, Ruby Allison, near Florence.
According to police, she had driven from Roanoke to Florida and was on her way back to Roanoke when she was pulled over.
Virginia police said the children were taken after Roanoke County Social Services tried to serve a court-ordered child removal for the children and their father, John Allison, refused to give their location or allow CPS access to them.
John Allison turned himself in Wednesday morning.
Ruby Allison is in custody.
They are both charged with three counts of abduction.
Police said grandparents were also in the car when the children were found, but are not being charged with any crimes.
