RANDOLPH COUNTY, N.C. — Authorities in North Carolina issued an Amber Alert for an abducted 1-year-old child.

Police later located Ava Lee Pierce, who they said was reportedly abducted by her mother, 34-year-old Roxanne Michelle Parson, during a visit on Dec. 1.

Authorities said Parson’s parental rights had been terminated and a warrant for arrest for felony abduction of a child has been issued for her.

The toddler is safe and Parson is in custody. The Amber Alert was canceled.

According to the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office, the child has brown hair and blue eyes and was last seen on Benny Lineberry Road, not far from N.C Highway 22. Deputies said Ava has a medical condition that requires medication which she does not have.

They were both last seen in Climax, North Carolina.
