Amazon to open brick-and-mortar store in Raleigh

RALEIGH, N.C. — Amazon is set to open a new type of brick-and-mortar store at a mall in Raleigh.

The company said the store, called Amazon 4-Star, will have some of its most popular online items.

WTVD reported that construction is already underway inside the Crabtree Valley Mall, where the store will be.

The company said although the store is called Amazon 4-Star, items that are rated lower or higher than four stars may be sold. Amazon used a curation system to determine the most popular items.

According to Amazon, products that will be available at the store either have a rate of four stars and above by customers, is a top seller or a new and trending product online.

At this point, there are plans for 30 Amazon 4-Star locations. The Raleigh location will be the only store in North Carolina.
