More Charlotte businesses cited for violating NC COVID-19-related orders

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Alcohol enforcement officers have cited several Charlotte businesses for violating state COVID-19-related orders.

I a release, police said Hoppin' Bar, the self serve-bar in South End, and El Centenario nightclub in northeast Charlotte were all recently cited.

Police said 360 Lounge Reloaded in north Charlotte was caught serving alcohol without a permit.

Officials said three other illegal parties were shut down in the last week. Police found 70 to 80 people at an illegal party on South Boulevard and also seized 189 liters of liquor.

Officers also said they shut down a large party at an Airbnb in south Charlotte. And at another party at a home in northeast Charlotte, as they were getting people to leave, they heard approximately 13 gunshots in the area.

Authorities said they never found any suspects or victims.

Channel 9 also learned Wednesday that since March, 38 Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officers have tested positive for COVID-19. Only five of those cases are still active, and those employees are on leave.
