Actor’s Theatre of Charlotte to make its final curtain call

CHARLOTTE — It’s the final curtain call for a staple of Charlotte’s arts scene for more than three decades. Actor’s Theatre of Charlotte notified its supporters and social-media followers yesterday that it will close for good after its upcoming run of “Evil Dead The Musical.”

“A combination of negative circumstances, from the pandemic to disappointing ticket sales, to the obstacle of finding new theater space, has made this outcome unavoidable,” its letter reads.
