CHARLOTTE — Action 9 investigator Jason Stoogenke was one of the first reporters in the country to bring attention to the issue of certain Hyundai and Kia vehicles catching fire, even though they hadn’t been involved in crashes.
Channel 9 also reported on the class-action lawsuit that followed.
Past coverage:
- Kia and Hyundai owners one step closer to getting money because of non-crash fires
- Another local Kia owner says his car caught fire without being in wreck
- What Kia, Hyundai settlement means for car owners
Both sides settled for roughly $1.3 billion. You can now apply for your share of that money, but you don’t have much time.
