GREENSBORO, N.C. — The ACC Basketball Tournament will tip off in Greensboro on Tuesday and, for many, it is a sign of normalcy with a few fans in the stands.
There is a lot of excitement in Greensboro, but there are a lot of precautions in place as the ACC Tournament begins.
Officials told Channel 9′s Dave Faherty they are allowing 15% of the seats to be filled at the Greensboro Coliseum. Most of those fans will be family members, and they will have assigned seating.
The ACC said there will be frequent cleaning and sanitizing of common areas, restrooms and concession stands. Face masks are required unless you are eating, and all teams will be tested for COVID-19.
All of this is an effort to keep student-athletes and fans safe. The men’s tournament will run March 9 through 13.
