GREENSBORO, N.C. — The Atlantic Coast Conference board of directors announced yesterday afternoon that it will extend its headquarters review to include sites beyond Greensboro.

The ACC, under the direction of new Commissioner Jim Phillips, disclosed in late August that it would evaluate its headquarters in Greensboro with the help of Newmark, a Texas-based real estate advisory firm.

The first phase of the evaluation was a review of the Greensboro site that included “more than 100 interviews with conference office, league and city of Greensboro stakeholders,” according to a press release from the ACC.

After receiving and discussing the findings of the review, the 15-member board directed Newmark to begin the next phase, expanding its work to include evaluations of other sites.

Among the cities thought to be possible candidates are Charlotte, Raleigh, Atlanta, New York, Boston and Washington.
