A/C technicians enter busy stretch of summer as temps heat up

CHARLOTTE — The heat index was in the 100s Wednesday, which in many homes puts stress on air-conditioning units.

This seasonal occurrence keeps HVAC companies working harder to keep those units maintained, repaired and sometimes replaced.

Costa Rica-native Maria Leonard is not a stranger to hot weather, but she knew something had to be done when her A/C unit stopped working efficiently.

“We’ll just try to stay in the shade, drink a lot of water, stay inside,” Leonard said.

So, she contacted City Air Experts to get a tune-up.

In the video at the top of this webpage, Channel 9′s Erika Jackson tags along with an HVAC technician from City Air Experts, whose service calls have skyrocketed since summer temperatures arrived.
