$9.2M Eastover buy tops Mecklenburg County’s priciest home sales

$9.2M Eastover buy tops Mecklenburg County’s priciest home sales (Charlotte Business Journal)

CHARLOTTE — While most of Mecklenburg County’s top-priced home sales in May can be found along the shores of Lake Norman, the priciest residential transaction — at $7.7 million — was logged in a close-in neighborhood.

A nearly 12,000-square-foot home on the 400 block of Hempstead Place in Eastover carried that price tag. In addition to that property, the buyers purchased an adjoined 1.2-acre parcel behind the home, off Montrose Court, for $1.5 million, according to county real estate records.

That puts the combined price for the two properties, which total more than 3 acres, at $9.2 million.

The three most expensive home sales last month in Mecklenburg County came from the Queen City, including the $5.2 million sale of a south Charlotte home and the $4.45 million sale of another Eastover property.

But the remaining seven homes on CBJ’s roundup in May were located in the lakeside town of Cornelius. Those properties sold for between $3.05 million and $3.6 million.
