CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Frantic 911 calls reveal the scary moments after a mother realized her daughter had been taken.

Channel 9’s Mark Becker spoke to the mother as she described her desperate plea for help finding her child.
Carolyn Cook said she put her granddaughter down for a nap, went to the bathroom and when she came back, the baby was gone.

She told Channel 9 that once she looked out the side door and saw her son's girlfriend, Winnifred Mirambeau, walking away, she quickly realized that Mirambeau had taken the little girl.
Cook contacted her daughter, the baby's mother, and they drove around the neighborhood searching for the child.
After 20 minutes of searching, the baby's mother called 911 in tears.

Iredell County deputies found the little girl on I-77 in Mooresville after a man who had given Mirambeau a ride called 911.

Officials told Channel 9 the baby is home and well.
Mirambeau is facing kidnapping charges.
