CHARLOTTE — Channel 9 is collecting new and gently used coats for children in need across the Carolinas, and hundreds of people joined in person for our collection day on Wednesday.

From noon to 6 p.m. Wednesday, viewers met with Channel 9 at the Walmart in the Arboretum Shopping Center and brought coat donations.
They even got a chance to meet guests like Carolina Panthers legend Steve Smith.
And he wasn’t the only Steve who will be making a guest appearance during our collection drive. Former Channel 9 Chief Meteorologist Steve Udelson (of Steve’s Coats) stopped by to see the celebration.

After that, you can take your coats to any of our donation locations through the end of December.
