LINVILLE, N.C. — The National Weather Service confirmed seven people were struck by lightning on Macrae Peak at Grandfather Mountain just after noon Friday.
Officials told Channel 9′s Dave Faherty four people were hurt but were able to hike out on their own.

No other details have been released at this point. Channel 9 is working to learn more information.
