CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police in Charlotte believe five armed robberies within hours of each other early Monday morning may be connected.
The first robbery happened around 1 a.m. at a BP gas station on Pence Road near Albemarle Road.
About 30 minutes later, police said they responded to a 7-Eleven on North Tryon Street, where a caller said two men tried to rob him outside the store.
The third robbery happened around 2 a.m. at a 7-Eleven on Mallard Creek Road. Officers said a man brought a gun into the store, took money and ran off.

About two hours later, police responded to the Quality Inn on Clanton Road after a man reportedly robbed the business at gunpoint.
The fifth robbery happened just after 5 a.m. at the 7-Eleven on The Plaza.
Officials said no one was hurt during any of the crimes.
Police have not yet released a description of the robbers.
