HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. — Four local fire departments worked to put out a large fire at a mulch supply company in Huntersville Saturday evening.
Huntersville, Charlotte, Concord and Odell Fire Departments responded at around 7:20 p.m. to the outside fire at Wallace Farm, Inc., on Eastfield Road at Wallace Pond Drive.

A piece of machinery could be seen engulfed in flames in photos tweeted by Huntersville Fire.
After several hours, firefighters were able to control the blaze. Officials said the mulch pile will take more than a day to finally extinguish it, and that employees are working to put it fully out.
No one was hurt in the fire. Officials said residual smoke can be expected in the area.
Fire officials have not said how the fire started.
