4 arrested after man robbed when responding to Craigslist ad

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police have made four arrests after a man responding to a Craigslist ad was robbed at gunpoint, investigators said.

The victim told police he responded to a Craigslist ad for a used car he was interested in buying. He gave his address to the people who claimed to be selling it and agreed to meet them so he could inspect the car, police said.

On Monday, the men arrived at the victim’s apartment and shortly after, one of them pulled out a handgun and ordered the victim to give them his money, according to police.

The men fled after taking money and other belongings from the victim, police said.

Police said a description of the car they left in was broadcast through CMPD communications and a short time later, officers stopped the car on Interstate 85 near W.T. Harris Boulevard.

Oqualin Chambers, Daryl Height, Demarcus Osborne and Terrice Morgan were arrested and charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon.
