KANNAPOLIS, N.C. — A three-year-old child was struck by gunfire during a drive-by shooting Tuesday night in Kannapolis, police said.
Officers were called around 6:40 p.m. to a home on Buick Avenue and found the child with life-threatening injuries inside the house.
The suspect(s) reportedly drove by the home and shot into it.

The child was rushed to Atrium-Health in Charlotte.
Police said the parents, who were home, were not injured.
Officers are searching for a dark-colored sedan that was last seen traveling down Ford Street in the direction of Dale Earnhardt Boulevard.
