ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. — A 3-year-old girl was killed Sunday afternoon in a crash in Rowan County, the state highway patrol said.

It happened just before 12:30 p.m. on White Road, which branches off of Highway 150.

Troopers said a car ran off the road and overcorrected, crossing the center line and flipping into a ditch. The car ended up on its roof.

Three-year-old Ema Gutierez, who is from Charlotte, died at the scene, investigators said. Three other people inside the car, two of whom were also children, were all hurt but are expected to be OK.

The crash is still under investigation but no charges have been filed as of this point.
