CHARLOTTE — A man, woman, and a girl were shot Thursday night at a south Charlotte apartment complex, officials said. Police have not released the young victim’s age.

The triple shooting happened at about 10:45 p.m. along Lakemist Drive off Old Pineville Road.

“It is scary because I bring my son over here and then you just don’t know what might happen,” a parent said. “It’s just getting crazy around here.”

None of the residents who Channel 9 spoke with wanted to be identified.

Alternatives to Violence visited the complex to enlist residents in the fight for a safer community.

“We just started up three months ago in this corridor so now we’re working on getting out in the community, let them see our faces,” said Thomas Vinson, with ATV.

ATV has been working along the Beatties Ford corridor for years.

The Nations Ford-Arrowood corridor is a recent expansion.

“We’re just out here to let the community know were here for them to give them different alternatives to violence,” Vinson said.

While residents are thankful ATV showed up, one woman who has a family member at the apartments said she will worry about her.

“I put it in God’s hands, but it still bothers me a lot,” Vinson said.

All victims had life-threatening injuries MEDIC said.

No further information was released, including the victims’ names and conditions.
