BLOWING ROCK, N.C. — A Blowing Rock hotel is testing its pool, spa and other areas after three guests were diagnosed with Legionnaire's disease.
The people visited the Meadowbrook Inn and Suites 10 days before getting sick.
Health officials have not confirmed that the hotel is where they contracted the disease.
The hotel said it is doing all it can make sure it is safe for guests.
Legionnaire's disease is a type of pneumonia caused by breathing in mist or vapor that contains legionella bacteria. It's not spread from person to person.
The bacteria spreads through mist, such as an air-conditioning unit in a large building.
