VALE, N.C. — Sheriff's deputies have charged a women who they said shot and injured her boyfriend during an early-morning shooting in Catawba County on Friday.
According to the Hickory Daily Record, Karan Lynn Holmes-Stills, 55, is charged with one felony count of assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury and one felony count of possession of a firearm by a felon.
She was issued a total bond of $18,000.
Police identified the shooting victim as Terry Joe Anderson.
Police said the shooting happened around 2:54 a.m. in Vale at a home on Rhoney Farm Road.
Officials said Anderson was transported to Catawba Valley Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
The department said its STAR Team was conducting training Friday and was called to help with the investigation.
