CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Three firefighters are out of the hospital after their fire engine flipped over early Sunday morning while responding to a call, the Charlotte Fire Department said.
Engine 28 was responding to a fire alarm around 4:30 a.m. when the vehicle overturned on Sunset Road, near Statesville Road in north Charlotte.

There were four firefighters on board -- three were hurt and taken to the hospital, officials said. They were released later Sunday morning.
The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is investigating what led to the crash. No other details have been released.
