By the beginning of the second half, the volume of Tweets had already exceeded last year's Twitter total.
The peak of activity came during the power outage with 231,500 tweets per minute.
About 5.5 million Tweets came during Beyonce's halftime show.

During the ever-popular Super Bowl counter-programming, best known as the Puppy Bowl, Twitter reports 500,000 Tweets were sent, which includes an uptick during the game's power outage.
