BOONE, N.C. — A man is dead after a crash involving a motorcycle in Watauga County Saturday evening, police said.
The wreck happened at around 5:20 p.m. on Blowing Rock Road near Faculty Street.
Police said a motorcycle was traveling south on the road when it struck the side of a truck on the northbound side that was trying to turn left onto Faculty Street.
The motorcyclist, 22-year-old Kishaun Wideman, was taken to a nearby hospital, where he died.
The driver of the truck was checked by medics at the scene and did not want to be transported.
Appalachian State University Police and Highway Patrol are assisting with the investigation.
