Two-year-old Leiloni Kinard went to Carowinds for the very first time Saturday. Her family says she loves playing with her friends and her Barbie dolls.
After a long day, Kinard was sound asleep around 1:40 a.m. Sunday morning when someone opened fire, spraying the apartment with bullets.
Shots went into the living room and both bedrooms, striking Leiloni on the mattress where she was sleeping.
Her aunt ran into her room and found her bleeding.
Channel 9′s Glenn Counts spoke with her aunt who described the moments after the gunfire.
“It was terrible, it was terrible to see her like that she kept going in and out she didn’t deserve that we don’t talk to nobody over here she doesn’t deserve that she was just an innocent child laying down,” the aunt said.
