CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Two suspects will not face the death-penalty in a murder that shocked a Steele Creek community.
David Doyle was found tied-up, beaten and stabbed inside his home earlier this year.
Channel 9 reporter Angela Hong was inside the courtroom Thursday as two of the three suspects faced a judge.
Prosecutors announced that they will not seek the death penalty for either Daniel Blakeney or David Gould, Jr.
In July, 64-year-old David Doyle was found dead in his Plantation Woods home -- he had been tied up and stabbed several times and his Chevrolet Avalanche had been stolen.
Police found Doyle’s body when someone asked them to check on him because they were worried about him.
Doyle was a veteran and had owned several car dealerships in Wyoming before he was killed.
Doyle's family told Channel 9 they hoped that prosecutors would seek the death penalty.
The third suspect, Tardra Bouknight, is set to appear in court Thursday afternoon.
