GASTON COUNTY, N.C. — Two women who died in a single-vehicle crash just before midnight Saturday in Gaston County have been identified, troopers said.
The crash happened on Highway 27 near Airport Road just north of Stanley.
Authorities confirmed Carley Skibo, 26, and Rebekka Rich, 28, were dead at the scene.
A third person was taken to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.
Officials said the car was traveling north on Highway 27 when it crossed over the left lane and struck a tree.
No other details have been released.
