GASTONIA, N.C. — Police are investigating after a man was shot Tuesday afternoon in a Gaston County neighborhood.
The shooting happened around 4:30 p.m. on Newcastle Road in Gastonia.
After the shooting, officers said two cars left the scene.

One of the cars was carrying the victim who was taken to a nearby hospital and treated for his injuries.
Police said three suspects were in the second car and two of them have been arrested.
The third suspect is still on the run.
No additional information has been released.
