2 knives confiscated from middle school student, officials say

CHARLOTTE — School officials at Piedmont IB Middle School confiscated two knives from a student, the principal told parents Tuesday.

A school resource officer conducted the search.

No one was threatened or injured, and the student will be disciplined.

“The safety of our students and staff is of the utmost importance to me. Please remind your students about the consequences of bringing inappropriate items to school,” the principal said in a message to parents. “Thank you for your support of Piedmont IB Middle.”
