CHARLOTTE — Two people had minor injuries after a fire at a two-story house Wednesday afternoon in southeast Charlotte, officials said.

The fire on Cornwallis Lane was in a subdivision off Sardis Road North near Sardis Road.
No one was home at the time of the fire that happened at about 4:40 p.m.

The two patients were treated at the scene.
The family’s pets did not survive.
