CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Two people have been taken into custody after police said they were caught breaking into Albemarle Road Elementary school in east Charlotte early Friday morning.
Officers responded just before 5 a.m. to an alarm call at the school on Riding Trail Road, near W.T. Harris Boulevard and Albemarle Road. When they arrived, police spotted two people running from the school.
Officers quickly detained both subjects but have not said if they are facing any charges.
