An initial investigation indicates that Wall was traveling southeast on Freedom Drive when he collided with Thompson’s vehicle as it was making a U-turn, according to police.
Police said excessive speed was found to be a contributing factor in the collision. It is unclear if impairment was a factor.
Wall has been charged with two counts of misdemeanor death by vehicle, operating a vehicle without a license, improper use of a lane, child safety seat violation, speeding, and window tint violation.
CMPD said the investigation into this case is active and ongoing. Anyone who may have information regarding the crash is asked to contact Detective M.R. Pressley at 704-432-2169 Extension 2 or Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
