PAGELAND, S.C. — South Carolina State Highway Patrol troopers are investigating after two people were killed in a crash involving a pair of dump trucks and an SUV.
The crash happened around 7 a.m. Tuesday on Highway 9 at Dudley Road, just outside of Pageland.

Officials said the crash involved an SUV and two dump trucks that were hauling sand.
According to troopers, the SUV was on Dudley Road when the driver, identified as 21-year-old Marshall Sloan, crossed into the path of the a dump truck heading west on Highway 9. The dump truck slammed into the SUV, which then collided with another dump truck traveling east on the highway.
The collision caused a fire.
The dump truck driver who was headed westbound was flown to an area hospital with serious injuries.
Sloan and dump truck driver headed eastbound, 39-year-old Chad Marshall, were both pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said Highway 9 at Dudley Road was shut down for hours while officers investigated the collision.
No other information has been released.
