HOPE MILLS, N.C. — North Carolina authorities said a small plane crashed into a home Thursday night, killing two people and injuring another.

Troopers said a single-engine civilian plane went down just after 11:30 p.m. and crashed into a Hope Mills home.
Our news partners at WTVD reported the pilot and a resident of the home died at the scene, and another person inside the house was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center with serious injuries.
The cause of the crash is under investigation and no identities have been released.
The home is near U.S. Highway 301, less than 5 miles of the Fayetteville Regional Airport.
