ALEXANDER COUNTY, N.C. — A father and his son were seriously burned in an explosion at about 11:15 a.m. Tuesday at a farm in Alexander County, officials said.

Investigators said the two men were working on a propane tank inside a garage when propane vapor exploded.

The fire marshal’s office believes a heater inside that garage may have caused the explosion.
