2 black snakes cause power outage in Rock Hill

ROCK HILL, S.C. — Two black snakes were the cause of a power outage Friday afternoon in Rock Hill.

The snakes were found inside a transformer in a Rock Hill substation.

One of the snakes died. The other was rescued with hopes it will survive.

More than 6,000 customers were without power from 2:15 p.m. until 3 p.m.

The outage also affected traffic lights.

This incident is similar to one reported by Morganton.  Workers found two dead snakes in an electrical box in April. CLICK HERE to read more.
