GASTONIA, N.C. — Police are asking for the public’s help trying to find a 19-year-old charged in the shooting death of a Bessemer City man Saturday night.
Gastonia police said Jabar Nichols, 18, was shot on the porch at a home on Southside Avenue around 10:50 p.m. Saturday.
He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Further details about the shooting have not been released.

One of two suspects in the homicide, a 17-year-old, has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder. Police are looking for a second suspect though, 19-year-old Markevion Antwan Weldon, who is also charged with first-degree murder in the case.
