18-year-old wanted for vandalizing graves in Monroe, police say

MONROE, N.C. — The Monroe Police Department is searching for an 18-year-old who is wanted in connection with the vandalism at a local cemetery.

Saturday afternoon, police said they received information about a group of people recording themselves destroying graves at the Hillcrest Cemetery.

An arrest warrant was then issued for Jaykob Marquez Bracey for felony desecrating a gravestone.

The Department of Juvenile Justice was also contacted in connection with a teenager who was allegedly involved, according to police.
