17-year-old arrested after shooting in north Charlotte turns deadly

CHARLOTTE — Police in Charlotte say a teenager has been arrested and charged with murder after a shooting victim died this week.

Channel 9 reported about the shooting on Tuesday. It happened on Perennial Terrace, near Craighead Road.

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department said on Thursday that the victim died from his injuries. He was identified as 28-year-old Raymone Devine Flakes.

Police said a 17-year-old was arrested on Thursday and charged with murder, shooting into an occupied vehicle, and robbery with a dangerous weapon.

CMPD didn’t immediately identify the teenager.
