FORT MILL, S.C. — A 16-year-old boy reported missing from his Fort Mill home Friday has been found safe, according to police.

David Morrison's mother Angela Morrison also announced in a Facebook Live Monday night that David was scared and confused, but was found safe and back home.

"I had a lot of people tell me to keep the faith and to believe that God would bring him home and He has," Angela Morrison said. "I'm grateful. I thank you for a community that backed us up."

Morrison, who is considered to be a “high-functioning” autistic boy, left his home Friday, police said.

Authorities said Morrison reportedly left home on his own after an argument with a family member.

The community helped in the search, including his wrestling teammates from Nation Ford High School.

"They were giving up their weekend to go and help, to help see if they could find him," his mother, Angela Morrison, said.

His parents thought he might have been in trouble and hoped no one would take advantage of him.

Morrison’s parents had posted a $2,500 reward for any information to help find him. Authorities added they had distributed Morrison's photo to every local hotel, motel, and restaurant.

Police said during the search, Morrison was reported to have been seen at several locations within the area, including the Waffle House on Regent Parkway in Fort Mill, Carolina Place Mall in Pineville and Nation Ford High School.
